BlackBerry Partners with Microsoft to Offer Secure Apps via Azure

The Good Dynamics Secure Mobility platform is now available through Azure and can be used to deploy a range of business applications. The service 'provides the needed security to ensure critical business data is never put at risk.'

In yet another partnership, BlackBerry has announced the addition of its Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform to Microsoft Azure. Despite its phone business all but dying out, the company has remained a leader in the security and services sector and is committed to more intelligent solutions.

The Azure integration will give companies the chance to install and deploy Good Dynamics through the cloud platform. The user will then be able to mobilize business, collaboration, ISV and custom apps.

“With Blackberry's Good Dynamics now on the platform, we continue to help protect customers' data and enhance our ecosystem of business-critical apps,” said Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, Developer Experience and Evangelism.

Billy Ho, Blackberry's Executive Vice President, Enterprise Product, also commented on the matter:

“As we work side-by-side with Microsoft we are providing customers with a breadth of new options to enhance and increase their mobile security. By utilizing Good Dynamics through the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, customers have more flexibility in their deployment of BlackBerry´s industry-leading solutions – without having to sacrifice user experience or introduce more complexity into their environments.”

BES12 Deployment

This isn't BlackBerry's first collaboration with Microsoft Azure. Back in February, they announced the integration of their BES12 security platform. Like Good Dynamics, it allowed customers to deploy the solution without the need for their own IT infrastructure.

The company then announced plans to integrate more solutions in the future, so this development should come as no surprise. They have previously mentioned the integration of AtHoc, their crisis communication platform.

Clearly, BlackBerry's plans did not stop there, and we can only expect more Azure collaborations as they continue to expand their security services. Pricing and other details about Good Dynamics are available on the Azure Marketplace.
