HP Opens Pre-Orders for HP Elite x3 with Some Extra Perks

Preorders for the company's flagship HP Elite x3 phone are now available, with a price of $799 including the desk Dock, as well as some discounts on other products.

Though Microsoft pushed the Elite x3’s ship date back to September 23rd, the HP has begun accepting pre-orders for the device. The US store listing now displays a “Pre-order Now” message, and will start on September 7th.

The flagship phone will set users back $799, but includes a Desk dock and few other perks. US customers will get up to $40 off select Bose speakers, and the HP OfficeJet 4650 for $29.99.Other than that the listing doesn’t differ from the one on the Microsoft Store, but customers will likely want to get their hands on the device as early as possible.

HP Elite x3 Specs and Features

HP’s flagship phone comes at considerable expense, but the specs match the price tag. The phone will have the following hardware:

  • Processor: Qualcomm® Snapdragon 820 (2.15 GHz, 4 cores)
  • Graphics: Qualcomm® Adreno 530 GPU (integrated in Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor)
  • Memory: 4 GB LPDDR4 SDRAM (onboard)
  • Internal storage: 64 GB eMMC 5.1
  • Wireless: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260AN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2×2) WiFi and Bluetooth® 4.0 Combo
  • Battery: 4150 mAh Li-ion polymer; Non-removable 3.85V battery pack
  • Audio: 1 external microphone (from headset jack); 2 Stereo speakers (one with earpiece); Snapdragon Audio+ support; Audio by B&O PLAY; 3 integrated omni-directional noise canceling microphones
  • Camera: 16 MP FHD rear-facing camera, 8 MP FHD front facing camera and Iris camera

Additionally, the company revealed in July that the device will have a fingerprint scanner. However, that functionality may not be available at launch, as an OTA update is needed.

The phone also has an SD card slot for extra storage, as well as dual-sim functionality. Its huge battery gives it an impressive battery life of up to 33 hours of talk time, 14 hours of web browsing or 13 hours of video playback. It’s expected to last up to 500 hours on standby.

Of course, one of HP’s major selling points is productivity. The device supports Continuum, as well as the HP Elite x3 Lap and Desk dock. This allows users to use their phone wirelessly to power a full desktop experience.

You can buy it now on the store page and take advantage of free shipping within one business day.
